Our Housing Developments
Manawanui Complex
Manawatū Community Trust’s affordable housing development on Prince Street, Feilding was completed in 2026.
Royal Treatment given to the Prince Street site
Manawatū Community Trust’s affordable housing building programme restarted in July 2025 on the Prince Street site in Feilding.
This development, titled Manawanui by the whānau who sold the land to MCT in 2020, occupies a 943-square-metre section and comprises four two-bedroom residences: one duplex and two standalone homes. Each dwelling, ranging from 72 to 80 square metres, was designed with health and wellbeing as central considerations, featuring open-plan living spaces, widened doorways, accessible ramps, and wet floor bathrooms.
All homes meet Healthy Homes and H1 Energy Efficiency Standards and reflect best-practice principles, including enhanced accessibility and crime prevention through environmental design.
Two-bedroom homes are new within MCT’s housing portfolio. In allocating tenancies at the Manawanui complex, preference will given to applicants who had a genuine need for a second bedroom, such as those requiring an overnight professional carer or two eligible tenants wishing to share accommodation.
Local contractor Colspec Construction Ltd successfully delivered the project, which was completed in 2026. The $1.6 million initiative was funded through impact investment finance and a grant from Central Energy Trust.
With the completion of Manawanui, MCT has shifted its focus to the upcoming Beattie Street development in Feilding. Corrick Court will comprise 12 homes—two two-bedroom units and ten one-bedroom units.
These housing developments reflect MCT’s ongoing commitment to its core purpose: providing safe, healthy, and affordable homes that help ease accommodation pressure across the district. The Prince Street homes are now available to rent.
Corrick Court
In September 2025, Manawatū District Council approved support for Manawatū Community Trust’s (MCT) plans to build 12 new accessible and affordable rental homes at the Corrick Court housing complex on Beattie Street, Feilding. Council’s support will help make the construction of the 10 one-bedroom and two two-bedroom homes at Corrick Court more affordable, ensuring the project delivers greater value to the community.
Humphries Construction Ltd commenced construction in January 2026 on the 18-month build programme. These homes are being built to LifeMark standards to improve accessibility and will help meet the needs of older residents and people living with disabilities.
This MCT project is an exciting development for Feilding - futureproofing as our population continues to grow - maintaining the Manawatū District as the perfect place to call home for generations to come.
Why is the development called Corrick Court?
Mr Gerald ‘Ged’ Corrick was a Feilding Borough Councillor in 1962 and in 1968 became Feilding’s Mayor. He achieved a lot during his 18 years of civic leadership, including the development of the region’s water and sewage schemes, a new library, the opening of the Makino Pool, and the building of 100 pensioner flats. Ownership of 100 of these flats was transferred to the Trust from MDC in June of 2008.
