Clevely Wing nears opening

The Manawatū Community Trust’s latest property development on Duke Street, the Clevely Wing, has been blessed and will soon be open for business.

The whakawātea was led by Dennis Emery, and members of Ngāti Kauwhata, who guided a small gathering through the building,

The event was attended by Feilding Health Care Board members and staff, representatives, and staff of the MCT, Feilding Health Care Property Management Ltd, Habit Health, and Colspec.

Formerly the building housing the Clevely Ward, the 1000 square metre facility was extensively refurbished over an 8-month period and through a corridor link, will provide a welcome extension to the Feilding Health Centre by accommodating physiotherapy and mental health services.

Leased to Feilding Health Care Property Management Ltd., both the FHC and Clevely Wing are owned by the Manawatū Community Trust on land that remains the property of Te Whatu Ora Health New Zealand.

The Clevely Ward operated as a geriatric facility from 1983 to 2005, and was named after local Hospital Board member, the late Jim Clevely.
